The Omaha Airport Authority (OAA) has equipped and trained its personnel for water rescue in the event of an aviation incident occurring in or near the adjacent bodies of water. Eppley is bordered by the Missouri River and Levi Carter Lake. The OAA has constructed a boat launch on the North end of the airfield, providing year-round access to the Missouri River. This boat launch lies directly off the approach of Runway 14R. This ramp provides an excellent access point to the upstream portion of the river. This allows responders to quickly navigate to any area around the airfield.
